Victorian Men's Netball League Welcome to the official site of the Victorian Men's Netball League. National Championships The recent Championships were a great success with 21 teams from 5 states competing. We welcomed Queensland back for the first time in 6 years and a Victorian regional team was entered for the first time ever. It was announced that next years championships will be held in Queensland at a venue to be confirmed. let's hope we can continue to grow the event and aim for 30 teams minimum next year. Congratulations must go to all players and officials for making the past event such a success. The Year Ahead The year ahead is shaping to be a busy one. The new M-League season will be starting later in the year after a break over winter. Selection trials for the 2009 Championships are to be held sometime around September, stay tuned for dates. Our Elite Practice Partner Program continues with possible games against the Australian and New Zealand women's teams along with the Vixens. Fast and furious continues to strengthen with MENA already commencing their second season and the possibility of another competition starting with another association. We hope to continue our progress in strengthening our game and would like to thank all our players and supporters for their continued support. Without you all, we wouldn't have an organisation as strong as we do. Coaching & Managing Applications The VMNL are now taking applications for the positions of Coaches and Managers for our squads 2009 National Championships assault. Application forms can be downloaded from the following link. You can also click on the Information button to the left, then the Download button. Applications close August 31 with appointments made by mid September. 2009 Tryouts On the back of a successful 2008 National Championships, the Victorian Men’s Netball League invites players to attend State Team Selections.
Venue: Banyule Netball Stadium- 2 Somers Avenue, Macleod Cost: $20.00 (to be paid with registration on first day of trials) $100.00 (to be paid on final week of trials, refunded if not selected) There is an expectation that players attend all 3 days of selections Australian teams will be selected from the Championship. AAMMNA intends arranging these teams to contest: Umpires We are also asking for applications from umpires. We are always looking at developing our umpire base with our M-League competition resuming later in the year and some Elite Practice Partner matches against Australia and New Zealand women's teams, among others, scheduled for around October, opprotunities for our umpires are many and varied. This coupled with the Nationals next Easter, we are keen to recruit umpires to join our existing team. Application forms are available from here. |
